Recently, classical music has proved its attraction towards young people. They come to the orchestra recently with a different altitude. Today, they don’t just consider classical music as a method of entertainment but also a good way to achieve more knowledge about music and history as well. So as to satisfy the demands of these important audiences, several talks and meetings have been operated in associated with free concerts to make this music genre come closer to the young generations.
In this post, I will introduce to you some of the key factors as well as how classical music plays an important part in the music live of young people. In addition, some well – known classical music concerts are also introduced so that you can have more choices in going to and take a look at this academic type of music.
What Is Classical Music?
Classical music is a general term which is not accurate about a genre of music with academic factors. Classical music was first established according to the development of European arts and especially spread between 1000 and 1900
In the music history, the term “classical music” is also known as the term to refer to the music belongs to the history period from Bach to Beethoven which was from 1730 to 1820.
Besides, we can understand classical music as a form of formal music with rules and principles (and yes, it is very complicated and hard to understand). At that time, this type of music was only used to serve for entertaining purposes of noble classes and kings.
There are so many types of classical music, but there are some major genres which should be mentioned as below:
- Symphony: an enormous masterpiece with many chapters (normally 4). The symphony is often performed by a symphony orchestra. The number of music instrumental player can be varied from hundreds to thousands.
- Concerto: this is a music piece with multiple chapters (normally 3) and also performed by an orchestra combining with a solo of a particular instrument. In this type of classical music, the solo part is the most important one, for example, the piano or the violin solo. It must be written very carefully. The orchestra’s mission is to make sure the chapters and the background music is played properly.
- Sonata: another multi – chapter piece of music. However, the Sonata is written for only one particular type of musical instrument. It can be violin, saxophone or piano.
Normally, younger people seem not to be interested in classical music because the meaning of this music genre is quite complicated not mentioning the techniques and some terms that audiences need to know before going to a concert. That’s the reason why orchestras are trying their best to make classical music easier to adapt for this group of audience. That’s when the combination of performance and explanation takes place.
Classical Music Performance And Explanation
Nowadays, classical music is not something too complicated and out of reach of young people anymore, especially with students. There are so many free orchestra performances on a monthly basis for young people who are passionate about this music genre and want to have a chance to enjoy a special night with classical music.
Though these music shows are free, the artistic factor is always put on top. All artists want to bring their best to the audience to make a great impression. These changes are also the way for classical music players to rehearse before important occasions.
The joy is displayed clearly on the faces of musicians when they receive so many questions and interests about classical music when the performances end. This close and warm atmosphere is also the source of motivation for young people to know more about classical music. There are some teenagers who only listen to Pop/Rock, but after several shows, they feel really interested in the classical type of music and can’t wait to listen more as well as know more about it. It’s true that classical music sometimes is very hard to keep up with and understand, but after a while, it’s nothing but the love of music and enjoyment when attending to music events and concerts.
A Good Sign For Classical Music
Recently, not only free concerts have a large number of audiences at a wide range of age but also normal concerts’ tickets are sold out quickly. The knowledge about classical music is now not only for students in Music Institute, it becomes something more general and easier to look for. Classical music is not restricted in the atmosphere of orchestras anymore. It spreads its impacts to the streets or smaller spaces with the share and accompanies of performers and listeners.
This is a good sign not only for classical music but also for young generations – people who don’t have much time and condition to interact with this type of art. With the development of social media and networks, the sources of knowledge about classical music are opened even wider than before.
Besides the success of free concerts, the meetings and talks about concert performances and classical music also receive so many praises from students and young people who are very interested not only in the music played but also the history behind it. There are now more and more small concerts for people which are celebrated by young people for young people.
Making younger generations interested in traditional and classical music is something we must do to keep the music value. In fact, there are so many other issues to actually make this happen wider and more frequently. People are now too tired of listening to trending music and running after their jobs, that’s the reason why young people are now trying to go back in time and bring back the old value of music.
